Wong Chun Chun - Ultimate Thai Restaurant

4 out of 5

Popular among the local Chinese people, but not commonly known among foreigners. Large group dining and good food are its hallmarks. Located in the Kowloon City district of Kowloon, it is a 3 storey restaurant. Reservation is a must on weekend nights. Very few servers speak English, but the menu is in English so it would not be a great problem. Also there is a whole page of vegetarian dishes incorporated in the drinks and dessert menu. The only sore point for the traditional Thai food consumers would be that the food is not as spicy as it ought to be. But the taste is good, minus the extreme spice. Been to this restaurant quite few many times, as its away from the beaten-to-death Tsim Sha Tsui area and a little congested Central area. The best dishes we love and regularly have here are , 1. Green Thai Curry 2. Sweet & Sour Vegetables 3. Pad Thai 4. Tom Yum Soup 5. Young Coconut

All these dishes have been consistent all the times, and its worth to go if you cannot think of any place new. Have also tried once Pineapple rice , red curry, Beancurd skin, vegetable soup, and were decent to taste with. In general the food quality is very good with prompt service. Remember to make a free VIP card which entitles you to a 10% discount. Also there is a restaurant in Jordan with the same name serving Thai food, but beware, its not the same.
