Spy - An Irritating Movie with Hamming Actors ...

1.5 out of 5
An unlikely undercover spy, dialogues made up of a concoctions of abuses, stupid plot, well known actors, high production values and a very innovative title for a movie - SPY... With no so great filmography behind the writer-director Paul Feig, he makes a film about a fat underdog getting on to the field as a spy, and doing the job which even the best spy could not accomplish. The film has some nice gags, but gets too repetitive with the overflowing abuses & cuss words after each comma. Melissa McCarthy being the lead actor does her job very well, if irritating the audience was her goal. Rose Bryne ,made to look twice her age, but thankfully irritates less than Melissa McCarthy. Jude Law has 1 action sequence in the start, while Jason Statham trying his hand at comedy works for few initial scenes, but in fact he is just ridiculing his earlier movie choices earlier in his career (read : Crank It Up). The most hilarious part belongs to Peter Serafinowicz playing the Italian Aldo playing to gleaming perfection. Surprisingly the movie has done very well, and also garnered rave reviews. But I could not help being bored through the movie. Skip the movie and watch another comedy spy movie available online.
